Best known for her nearly twenty year stint on the popular TV show, “Hee-Haw,” Roni Stoneman earned the distinction of being the first female banjo player to record a bluegrass tune when she appeared on the 1956 album “American Banjo Scruggs Style.”

She’s still going strong, and when she recently stopped by Turtle Hill to have her banjo set up we couldn’t resist the opportunity to take a few pics of her.

The next day, Roni and I played at a luncheon for senior citizens.
