FON 2246-15. This Gibson Bowtie Banjo has a newer neck, unknown maker, and flathead 20 hole tone ring. It plays and sounds incredible with new gold stainless frets from Richie Dotson, newer tuners with the vintage "bowtie" tuning buttons. It retains its original flange which in great shape; you can see the Doehler stamp under the neck heel.
Dating back to 1949, this is one of the first bowtie banjos Gibson produced.
