FON 8138-46. This Early Gibson Resonator Banjo Started its life as a tenor banjo and was converted to a 5 String banjo making it ideal for playing bluegrass music. It still retains its original hardware including its ball bearing tone ring. It also features a super cool Style 11 Gibson Resonator which would have been mad sometime in the 1930s. This banjo has that classic archtop ball bearing sound, but can easily be converted to a flathead tone ring without any modifications to the rim. If interested in that, please inquire. There was a previous neck repair at the heel, see photos, and is structurally stable now; neck was painted dark blue to match the resonator of the banjo. Fresh setup, plays and sounds great!
