When Jimmy Cox passed away in 2021, he left an enduring legacy in the banjo community. As a premier manufacturer and supplier of rims and resonators—especially those used in Gibson-style Mastertone pots—Cox was also known for crafting custom banjos for over five decades. His instruments are revered by players for their exceptional craftsmanship, rich tone, and effortless playability.
