Cox banjo rims and resonators are renowned throughout the industry for their exceptional craftsmanship, tone, and reliability. Built in Maine by the legendary Jimmy Cox, these instruments are known for their superior performance—and this custom banjo is no exception.
This one-of-a-kind banjo was personally owned by Raymond Fairchild, accompanied by a letter of authenticity signed by his wife. The quilted mahogany resonator and neck are breathtaking in person, with depth and figure that photos simply can’t capture. The back of the resonator features an ornate copper inlay of a still with “White Lightning XXX,” a true showpiece and a testament to Cox’s meticulous artistry.
The banjo is in exceptional condition, with all original hardware, including the highly sought-after Cox tailpiece.
If you’re looking for a visually stunning instrument with THE sound, backed by craftsmanship and a touch of bluegrass history, this is one you’ll want to consider.
