The Sierra is Deering’s most popular professional-grade banjo, and it’s easy to understand why once you play one. It features Deering’s complete “tone package,” including a 3-ply violin-grade maple rim, their -06- 20-hole bell bronze tone ring, and a cast zinc resonator flange. Together, these components produce the powerful, clear tone bluegrass players look for.
The fretboard showcases inlays designed by Greg Deering, inspired by the ornate banjos built in Boston during the early 20th century. The main differences between the Sierra and Deering’s more expensive models are cosmetic. The Sierra has a satin finish and an unbound neck—features that require less time and labor than the gloss finishes and binding found on higher-end models.
If you’re looking for a well-built banjo with strong, authentic bluegrass tone, the Sierra delivers all the essential ingredients!
Fresh setup, with Dotson bridge; plays and sounds exactly as it should! Includes original hardshell case.
