This Fender Artist Banjo is a POWERHOUSE of an instrument, fresh setup with Huber Bridge!
There are some very light surface scratches and tiny dings throughout the instrument. There is some blemishing in areas of the metal parts; most noticeable is a small spot on the tailpiece in which the chrome wore away with a small amount of rust (see photos). Overall this banjo is in very good shape for its age! Fingerboard and frets have very light play wear and plenty of life left in them. The neck is very straight and the truss rod functions fine. All parts are in perfect working condition.
Body: 11” diameter head with 24 lugs on a chrome tension hoop. Chrome arm rest and tailpiece. Maple-based bridge with Ebony saddle. One-piece chrome flange. Walnut pot with dual metal coordinator rods, an angled tone ring and a label with the model and serial number. Double-bound walnut resonator with four thumbscrews.
Neck: Nicely rounded 5-string walnut neck with maple strip down the back. Bound rosewood fingerboard with fancy pearloid inlays and a 1 3/8” nut. Machine tuners with pearloid buttons, 27” scale length.
Weight: 12lbs, 5.5oz.
Playability/Sound: This is a great sounding vintage banjo. The walnut construction and angled tone ring give the instrument some nice volume and pick attack. The rounded neck is exceptionally comfortable.
